Yesterday, the House of Cards shot down the bill passed by the House of Stars. Thank you, at least for now. The King of the Hill demonized the Jokers for their poor deal. Well, I say boo-hoo Mister Bush. For once, your foot soldiers failed to bark on command. But Oh People of this Great Land, forget not, the Henchmen still wait. In fact the same House denying the Bill will overturn its hand of cards. Just watch. Hopefully I am wrong.
Today someone exclaimed to me, "I can't believe I've sided with the Elephants for the first time in my life!" I reminded her the Elephants sided not with her but the 'invisible hand' they dictate their life by... See the Elephants are Friedman-Freaks. The Neo-Liberalists marched into Washington long ago but now they have a reversed-structural agreement for Us. Beware People, the Miltons are on the March.
I am going to put the economy aside for a moment, because no one else can seem to 'check' their hand to look at the larger picture. So briefly, I am going to get a little personal.
A very dear friend of mine entered the Matrix today. Her body swallowed the wrong pill, I call it cancer. It's not her fault, surely, but now she's sucked in. The Matrix my friends, believe it or not, is not just a cheesy movie, in which almost any human subject matter is analogous to... no, the Matrix is the Network, The System, I call it the American Medical Complex. I like the word complex, it makes me want to invent the word complexicated, almost like a complex-complicated hybrid- because that is exactly what the health care system in this country is- complexicated.
I fine-lined the details to her. Biologically, yes, she has cancer. Systemically, according to insurance mongols, she has no preexisting condition. See, insurance lingo dictates that someone who has always been insured, virtually has no medical condition, even if that said person has cancer, the bird flu, SARS, asthma, etc. Technically, the company cannot individually increase your rates until you're proven to have a preexisting condition, unless of course the rate of increase relates to a systemic cost increase. Let us use Neo from the movie Matrix as an example of my point, because clearly i have not caffeinated myself to the point of excellent articulation.
Okay, lets say the blue pill represents disease and the red health. Then let us pretend that an insured Neo takes the blue pill and is now 'diseased'. According to health insurance companies, as long as he never goes a minute without insurance, he is in fact, not diseased according to institutional standards. Now, if Neo had been uninsured while swallowing the 'disease pill', he would in fact be diseased both institutionally and biologically. Therefore, the Matrix would toss out uninsured Neo by hiking his insurance premiums sky-high. in fact, the Matrix can even alter the percentage of coverage by class of prescription and care. For example, if uninsured Neo needed a purple pill the insurance company might decide to only cover 10% of the cost versus the 20-40% it may have covered if either a) Neo had been insured upon becoming diseased and therefore, not becoming institutionally diseased or b) if Neo hadn't become diseased in the first place. Confusing? That's why the American health care system is a complexication.
So here's a Light Bulb of an idea: why don't we rid ourselves of the things that don't work, like complexications. The most complexicated aspect of both our medical, economic and legal systems is that the necessary information is barred from The People. Most people find out too late that the Matrix labels them as a liability to because they went one day without insurance. So even if they've been battling diabetes for 10 years, according to the complexication, they only start having diabetes the minute they go uninsured. The legal and economic complexications of this country are riddled with the same misinformation and lack of information. Why? Because it benefits the Matrix for The People to remain encapsulated in their bubbles, barred from information and reality. The Machine profits from the People's lack of knowledge, awareness and know-how. This is after all, the Matrix.
So unfortunately, today I welcome another member to the minor-majority of Sickos. Welcome, you now have a name for your disease. But do not despair, like I always say, We are All Diseased, just some of us have not found a name for it yet.
